Food for Thought – We believe that a key to creating better options and opportunities for local forests and forest dependent people is encouraging and supporting substantial and constructive reflection and discussion about significant forest issues.  In hopes of encouraging and stimulating helpful conversation, Peter Hayes periodically pens and shares essays on various forest-related topics.  A collection of these essays is shared here.  Please help him find the flaws in his thinking and ways to clarify all of our understandings.  Every day we are reminded that the forests have important things to teach us, if we are paying attention.  Because all of these essays are informed and inspired by the forests, it seems only fair to present them as what they are – the fruits of ongoing collaboration between the place and the author.
