We sell both logs and lumber.
One piece of the puzzle of making the growing of ecologically complex forests economically viable is finding, or developing, quality markets for all of the logs removed from the forest – including seven species and varied diameters and grades. As neighboring forests and the mills they supply become increasingly simplified (focused on small diameter fir logs) this becomes an increasingly challenging. We also rely on these markets,
While most of our logs are sold to sawmills, a small percentage of our logs, primarily large and high quality Douglas fir, are processed on site into high quality beams, timbers, lumber, and finished wood cladding. We can also provide remanufacturing into other products as needed.
100% of the lumber produced comes from logs sourced from our own forests, providing both forest of origin traceability and FSC® certification (FSC-C008225).
We have intentionally worked to decrease the carbon impacts of our operations, from using R99 Renewable Diesel in all equipment, to choosing low-emissions Tier 4 final engines in our most-used applications. Our dry kiln runs on solar power, and most beams and timber are air-dried, to decrease energy inputs and finished quality.
