On Oct. 9, a perfect indian summer day, Pacific Univ. students made impressive progress on the restoration project. The remainder of the invasive vegetation was cut back and much of the site was covered with black, plastic fabric. The aim is the kill the invasives by stealing their light. This will make way for the reintroduction of a native plant community. It was impressive to see how much can be accomplished in 2 hours by a motivated team of about ten.
